When I imagine a picture perfect winter wedding I see soft snowflakes falling as the bride arrives in her long sleeve lace dress. White flowers and crystal snowflakes hang from the ceiling, everything sparkles, and the scent of pine wafts through the venue.

Even if the winter wedding you’re attending is different from the image in my head (different is good!), you are probably still wondering what to wear to it. For some reason, I find it harder to dress- up in the winter and you might too! That’s why I’ve created this easy to follow guide that will have you picture perfect in no time.

First Things First

All wedding attire etiquette that applies to summer weddings also applies to winter ones. The snow might inspire you to wear a white dress, but that color is still reserved for the bride unless otherwise stated. Don’t forget to inspect your invitation for clues regarding the type of attire you should wear. This will help you choose from casual to black tie. From there, mix and match items from this list to create your perfect winter wedding look.

Closed Toe Shoe

No one loves a good open toe shoe as I do, but during the winter I have to face the facts and pack them away. For those who experience mild winters, you may not have this problem. The rest of us, however, should choose shoes that look great in socks, leggings, or tights. Regardless of your temperature, you’ll love these closed-toed shoes and you’re feet will thank you later.

Pants

When you get invited to a wedding, the first thing that probably pops into your head is

“What dress am I going to wear?!”

Pants might not jump into your mind immediately, but they are an excellent choice for winter weddings and can look as put together and beautiful as a dress. Try one (or all) of these gorgeous pants and turn heads!

Long Sleeves

Don’t let the cold weather keep you from looking glamorous at your next winter wedding. Choose from a number of amazing long sleeve shirts, sweaters, or cardigans. If you’re worried about getting too hot at the party, go for an easily removed jacked or cardigan and wear short sleeves underneath.

Jumpsuit

Forget the pantsuit and grab your jumpsuit. They come in just about any style or color, they’re classy enough for the ceremony and perfect for dancing in. The best part? They look amazing on everyone’s body!

And finally…

The Jacket

[woocommerce_lookbook id=”20138″] Odds are, you will need to wear a jacket to the winter wedding. Specifically, if your climate zone reaches below zero. That doe not mean go grab your cozy ski jacket though!- unless you’re all going skiing after the ceremony. Remember, you’re coat should match the vibe of the venue. Make an entrance with this long tweed coat. It’s classy and it’ll protect you from the cold- head to toe.
